Welcome to one of Christchurch's most versatile places to stay. A bustling backpacker hostel is joined by motel rooms, self-contained tourist flats, and even room for campervan types before they hit the South Island's wide open roads. No wonder it's affectionately dubbed 'Stonehurstville'.When a place is as sprawling and multi-faceted as Stonehurst, you could forgive a touch of impersonal service. Not so here, where you'll find keen and eager staff bursting with ideas of what to do in and around the Garden City. When you've explored Christchurch to the max, relax around Stonehurst's heated swimming pool or fire up a barbecue and get up-to-date travel information from other travellers who've just arrived back from discovering the nooks and crannies of the South Island. If you're not the barbecue type, the onsite cafe serves up good value pizza and pasta. While you're waiting for your lasagne, peruse the notice boards for more hot-off-the-press travellers' information.
