Lonely Planet review

Actually more like a boutique hotel, but without the formal atmosphere, the very chic, ultra-contemporary Crawford House is a top-end B&B with 12 spacious, streamlined rooms plus one private bungalow.Framed black-and-white Ansel Adams photographs line the white hallways of this swish freestanding terrace house. You'll sleep stylishly in king-size beds between crisp white cotton sheets beneath caramel-coloured bedspreads in designer rooms with burnished gold-framed mirrors, and refresh yourself in all-white bathrooms with Galánta seaweed extract products (book into one of the rooms with a jacuzzi for extra decadence). Amenities in all rooms include satellite TVs, phones, hairdryers and everything you need to make tea or coffee. Served in a stunning, light-filled glassed-in dining room set with white-clothed tables and chrome chairs, breakfast choices include buffet, continental or the full Irish spread; they'll also cater to special dietary requirements. Flanked by a circular driveway, there's free on-site parking and it's a pleasant 10-minute stroll to the city centre.
