The Victor wins - the hot design stakes, that is. And the fish tanks full of jellyfish competition (a popular symbol - note the beaded lamps meant to resemble stinging sealife). And the 'damn-that-room-is-fly' pageant too. Designed by L Murray Dixon in 1938, the redone Victor was opened in 2005 to much acclaim; these days, Shaquille O'Neal is famous for throwing parties in the around 6000 a night penthouse. Parking costs $32 per day.
