If you're seen lounging poolside, or eating at the Dragonfly restaurant, you're in the in crowd. Colourful, exotic silks and whimsical shapes characterise design-driven guest rooms, and hip themed suites epitomise eccentric wealth.

Za za zoom! Even the front-desk staff are chock-full of character at this pizzazzy place (and they don't look bad in those tight black T-shirts either). What do stylised photos of Lenny Kravitz taking a bubble bath, an old movie theatre organ and a zebra-stripe leather chair have in common? They're all just a small part of the accessories in the 186 sq m (2000 sq ft) Rock Star suite, one of the 'Magnificent Seven' unveiled in 2005. Smaller suites are no less inventive, with themes like Zen and Shagadelic. Let's call the standard room style exotic eclectic (or upscale bordello?). The miniscule Moorish pool is more bar area than bathing hole; why kick off your Manola Bloniks when you can lie on a pool-bed and sip a cocktail? Is it all too much? Maybe. But it is fun if you can afford it.
