Location. Facing onto a quiet, narrow street, Dei Borgogni Hotel is a remodelled palazzo dating from 1800, and lies between the Trevi Fountain (200 metres away), and the Spanish Steps (350 metres away). The nearest airport is Rome Ciampino (CIA) 24 kilometres away, around 35 minutes by car.
Hotel Features. The inner garden courtyard is a tranquil sanctuary which recalls the former palazzo's 19th-century origins. Open in warm-weather months, a wrought-iron gazebo with white canopies and red drapes includes a phone for ordering room service meals and drinks. White blossom drapes the stone walls and flower beds contribute vivid colours; in spring, guests can pick from kumquat and orange trees. The concierge is available to provide advice on local sightseeing, as well as booking restaurants and excursions. Valet parking is offered in the hotel's garage (surcharge).

The American Bar features a lacquered maroon bar and red- leather stools and couch. The adjoining dining room has a parquet floor, softly lit white cove ceiling, and picture window overlooking the garden, and is open early morning to late night for drinks and light meals. The hotel supplies complimentary bicycles.

Guestrooms. Dei Borgognoni Hotel offers 51 soundproofed guestrooms spread over four floors. Decor includes fabric wall coverings, ivory-coloured furniture with polished brass trim and gold brocade bedspreads. Rooms offer views of the street or inner garden courtyard and include air conditioning, safes, minibars, and high- speed Internet connections (surcharge). Marble bathrooms come with shower/tub combinations, heated towel rails, hair dryers, and toiletries.

Expert Tip. The National Museum of Pasta Foods 250 metres from the hotel offers self-guided tours revealing the history of pasta. Included are ancient and modern machinery, explanations of how shapes are invented, and photographs of Italian movie stars eating pasta. A 10 EUR entrance fee (subject to change) includes use of an audio guide in various languages.
