One of the finest boutique hotels in the Caribbean - and one beloved of the Hollywood elite (some of whom are helicoptered in) - The Caves offers 10 handcrafted, individually styled one- and two-bedroom wood-and-thatch cottages set in lush gardens above the West End's cave-riddled cliffs.

If you're in the mood to splurge in Negril, this is the place. High-ceilinged rooms feature exquisite hand-carved furniture, batik fabrics, louvre windows and CD players, while ceiling fans and mosquito nets drape over the king- or queen-size beds. Many rooms have exquisite outside showers. Paths wind down to a free-form Jacuzzi studding the rock face, and then to a cave with moulded benches where you can meditate to the reverberations of the waves (or have dinner, if you order a day in advance). There's also a sauna, as well as an Aveda spa where you can get the full treatment while gazing out at the bright blue sea. Rates include all meals and self-service bar.
