The Hotel Atlantic Palace is a traditional, richly historic Florentine hotel housed in a 13th century monastery. Set in the city centre, next to San Lorenzo Market, and 200 metres from the Church of St Lawrence. The 68 spacious guestrooms have high, beamed ceilings and are sumptuously appointed in 18th century Florentine style. All rooms have marble bathrooms and include air conditioning, wireless Internet, satellite TV, safes, and minibars. Guests can keep up to date with daily international newspapers. Wireless Internet is available throughout, and there is an Internet point in the hotel bar. The lounge is refined in style, and retains many original features. Buffet breakfasts can be enjoyed in the breakfast room, which looks onto the garden. Valet parking is available, and multilingual staff can provide tour assistance. Florence is easily explored on foot and the hotel is within 300 meters of attractions such as the San Lorenzo Market, the Church of St Lawrence, Santa Maria Novella Cloisters and the Cathedral Museum. Florence Airport is 6 kilometres (4 miles) from the hotel. Although the airport is very close to Florence, traffic can be bad in the city, so guests are advised to allow 20 minutes. The airport is a short taxi ride from town (costing 13-16 EUR) although it is also possible to take the half-hourly bus, which transports passengers to Santa Maria Novella Station, in the centre of Florence.
