Perfectly located on a quiet downtown side street, the urban chic Loden is at the top of Vancouver's recent boutique hotel renaissance. Expect excellent but discreet service, swish mod interiors and a restaurant lounge that's perfect for rubbing shoulders with the beautiful people.

One of a clutch of new high-end Vancouver boutique hotels, the swanky, 2008-opened Loden is the real designer deal - and one of the first properties in years to give Yaletown's Opus a run for its money. The 77 rooms combine retro-chic flourishes like mod sofas and copper-accented, chocolate-brown paint jobs with a raft of luxe accoutrements including marble-lined bathrooms with those oh-so-civilized heated floors. The attentive but snob-free service (there's a complimentary town car to take you anywhere downtown) is top notch, and Voya, the glam on-site restaurant, is arguably the city's best hotel eatery. Extras include a small gym, free wi-fi, and bathroom amenities from Molton Brown, Britain's high-end soap makers. Don't bring your vehicle and make sure you take full advantage of the town car: valet parking here costs a massive 28.00 per night.
