This hotel is located in an interesting part of Bur Dubai. A walk through streets filled with Indian and Pakistani workers and shoppers takes you to the Bastakia area with its wonderful heritage windtower buildings from the early 20th century as well as galleries and cafes. Just up the road is BurJuman (tel: 352 0222; cnr Trade Centre Rd), where you will find some of Dubai's most upmarket shopping.

How to get there

• From Dubai International Airport (DXB):
  Distance to Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai hotel is 7 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
  
  Getting there. Pre-paid taxis can be found at Terminal 1's Arrivals hall, and the fare to the city centre is approximately 40 AED. Limousines can be hired in the Arrivals hall. Buses run to the city centre every 10 minutes from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Bus stations are located opposite Terminals 1 and 2. Buses 44, 33, 15, 11, and 4 run to the city centre from Terminal 1, passing near to most major hotels. Bus number 2 runs to the city centre from Terminal 2, also passing near to most major hotels. Buses depart approximately every 20-30 minutes, and a single ticket costs 2 AED. Prices are all subject to change.
  
  Getting around. The Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai hotel is situated 300 metres from Dubai Creek Walk on Khalid Bin Walid Street. Public buses offer a reasonable service between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Buses travel from Bur Dubai station, on Al-Ghubaiba road, and Deira bus station, near the gold souk. Buses have separate seated sections for women and men, with women typically sitting near the front. Travellers should pay the correct fare to the driver. In older parts of Dubai, small wooden motorboats cross over Dubai Creek between early morning and midnight. Air-conditioned taxis are efficient, cheap and safe, and can be pre-booked by telephone or hailed in the street. The hotel has complimentary valet parking.
  
  Driving directions. From Dubai International Airport:
  Take the Al Maktoum Bridge towards Bur Dubai.
  Keep right on Khalid Bin El Walid Road.
  The Bur Juman shopping centre will be on the left.
  Pass through the traffic signal, and the hotel is on the right.
