It's overpriced, first off. But although the decor may need freshening and the bathroom a dollop of new grout, Central Court is central, organised and very efficiently run, with many of the amenities of pricier hotels.

The Central Court is, in many ways, a fancy place. It has an elegant lobby with a glass elevator and comfortable wicker furniture in the atrium. There's the free airport drop-off, the excellent business centre with new machines, the plethora of eating and drinking options. There are even phones in the bathrooms. Staff are friendly and professional and eager to please. But then the rooms are just so blah. They have crisp, white bedspreads and lots of pillows, minibars and bedside lamps with soft lighting. It's just that they don't have much character. We nominate them for a makeover. We're recommending the place in spite of this, though. Like a loyal but slightly boring friend, the Central Court is worth it for its reliability and other services. Also, we like the bars.
