The Kakatiya is so beautiful you can't even pin down why. Of course, every part of the hotel is graceful, comfortable and sophisticated, but it's as if it spontaneously appeared that way. Like a gorgeous woman who doesn't think about her looks, the Kakatiya is lovely without even trying.

All the rooms here are exquisite and your needs are tended to with thoughtful provisions (eg choose from two kinds of mattresses and seven kinds of pillows). But the Sheraton Towers rooms have the most character, with pewter onion-dome posts on furniture, silver-legged bathroom furniture and other touches that evoke a bygone nizam's palace. All rooms have hardwood or lushly carpeted floors, interesting art like architectural drawings of Kakatiya-era buildings and a homy sumptuousness. The Sheraton Towers lounge, in rose and lavender, shimmers at sunset, while downstairs the pool has wicker chaise longues surrounded by palms. Views of the pool and its dramatic treescape are best seen through Marco Polo Bar's picture windows. The bar has stools with antler-esque backrests, blue lighting and old maps of the world. The perfect place for twilight.
