Almost 400 meters from the hotel stretches a crystal clear Wolfgangsee lake � named after its patron, Mozart, whose mother was born and lived in that area.
The hotel is run by a Polish family of Wota (owners of a castle in Nowêcin near Ceba). It consists of 27 wonderful rooms overlooking beautiful mountains, the lake and ancient steets of the town that surround the hotel. Thanks to the unique localization and rare hospitality your stay at our hotel becomes the most wonderful time of rest.
Our hotel is currently marked with three stars. Our guest, however, claim that if the stars were to be an indication of hospitality, our hotel logo should include a picture of a whole galaxy. We guarantee a family atmosphere and any assistance during your stay at our hotel.
We offer spacious rooms with bathroom facilities, equipped with TV sets and telephones. Many of the rooms have balconies with a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains. We also recommend our delicious cuisine, which includes both Polish and regional dishes.
Wolfgangsee
Wolfgangsee Lake stretched in the surface of 13 square km. It is located on the latitude of 538 meters above the sea level and in some places reaches the depth of 114 meters. Picturesque mountains peaks surround the lake: Zwolfernhorn � 1522 m a.s.l., Schafberg 1783 m a.s.l., Drachenwand � 1187 m a.s.l.
Skiing / Snowboarding
St. Gilgen (Salzkammergut region) is full of ski lifts and local mountains are a perfect place for the sport. Within a two-hour drive from St. Gilgen there are two airports which enable quick reach to the town.
Salzkammergut region is perfect with its snow and skiing conditions, though the slopes are very sunny. The snow lies on the slopes for a very long period � up to May. The Zwölferhorn area is perfect with its snow conditions, allowing skiing in deep snow. You can feel safe and secure when sliding down the slope as St. Gilgen is a base for a mountain safety guard centre.
Two snowboarding schools are based in Salzkummergut area as well as there are practice slopes for snowboarders.
The most famous lifts in the St. Gilgen area are:
� Zwölferhorn (camera view) � at reaching the top there are 9 km of routes at the guest�s disposal, including: 5 km of medium level of difficulty and 4 km of easy routes. The skiers may also use 2 lifts: line and belt.
Gaissau � Hintersee � there are 40 km of routes altogether, including 1 km of advance route, 19 km of medium difficult route and 20 km of easy routes. There are 9 lifts in the area (6 belt lifts and 3 chair lifts). The longest route is 2327 m. the skiing conditions are perfect here.
� Active Center Postal � altogether over 20 km of routes, of which 1 km of advanced, 8 km of medium difficulty, and 11 km of easy routes. The guests may use 7 lifts � 6 belt lifts and 1 chair lift. The sliding area is stretching at the latitude between 1200 m and 1900 m a.s.l.
A day ticket for the lifts in the area costs from 22 to 26 Euro. A 6-day ticket is an expense of 102-106 Euros.
In the area there are also various ski schools for children, where the children, under the watchful eye of the instructor, will quickly learn the art of skiing. Specially designed practice slopes will surely facilitate the learning process. During the season opening the children can ski with a free of charge fee. Moreover, a special offer of season tickets allows minimalising the cost of taking the children for a trip to the Salzkummergut region.
A free of charge ski bus reaches twenty attractive skiing destinations in the Styria region.
It is also possible to race ski in St. Gilgen area. Altogether there are over 90 km of snow removed routes.
Paragliding
A perfect place for the sport is the slope of the Zwolfernhorn Mountain. Flying down you can delight yourself with the beauty of panoramic view of the mountains, the town and the picturesque Wolfgangsee Lake. To reach the top it is enough to get on the line lift which station is located only 300 meters from our hotel.
Mountain Trips
Zwolfernhorn is an excellent place for mountain trips. After reaching the peak on a line lift you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the mountains, especially the peaks of: Pillstein (1478 m a.s.l.), Illingerbert (1479 m), Wieserhorndl (1568 m), Hoher Goll (2523 m), Regenspitz (1675 m).
It is possible to choose from routes of different level of difficulty. The most popular are:
� Farchbachalm (3 h)
� Illingeralm (3-4 h)
� Sausteigalm (3 h)
� Stubneralm (2 h)
On the route we are able to enjoy the slopes covered with amazing flora, to breathe fresh air and to rest at mountain properties and shelters.
Other attractions
St. Gilgen is a place where you can do various winter/summer or whole year sports. The town incorporated sheltered swimming pools and golf courses. It is also possible to play tennis, horse ride, do rafting and play curling.
In the winter the tourists can sleigh ride, go on mini bobsleighs, ice-skate (Strobl, Fuschl), icescooters (Fuschlsee lake) in the region.
Of course it�s not everything that Salzkummergut offers to its visitors. Multiple discos (including discos on ice), sleigh rides, curling and ice-skating nurseries (Fuschl) are at the guests� disposal.
The wonderful view of the Wolfgangsee Lake and many of the surrounding mountain tops can be viewed from the Schafbergbahn railway. The cars are pushed by a traditional carbon rail engine. The railways starts in St. Wolfgang at the latitude of 544 m a.s.l. and it ends in Schafberg (1734 m a.s.l.) � one of the most picturesque peaks of the Alps. On the way you can alight in Schafbergalpe at the latitude of 1363 m a.s.l. At this point, many of the tourists decide to have walking trips into the mountains. Its length is almost 6 km, and the departures are held every hour on average (first departure at 8:25, the last one 18:55).
For those willing to enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains from the sky there is a special chopper going above the peaks of Salzkummergut. A 30 minute flight over Salzkummergut costs 140 Euro, and for an hour flight to Dachstein we will pay 280 Euro. The chopper takes on board five people and the pilot.
