Conspicuously aimed at travelers whose rucksack days are over, Hostal Morgan is a prime choice for couples and those fond of catching some extra zzzs. It's also centrally located, around the corner from the shops and ethnic restaurants of Cerro Alegre.

In a grand canary yellow home on a quiet side street, Hostal Morgan proves a tasteful addition to the Cerro Alegre options. Sophisticated and hush, it is an anomaly to the wacky neighborhood. Even the grouchiest grandmother would feel right at home here. Rooms with tall windows are impeccable and snug, with central heating, quilted bedcovers, white linens and bright woolen throws. A shoebox-sized second floor terrace is the ideal nook for reading or sipping a cup of tea. Though the ambience can feel a little bit stiff, guests boast about the attentions of hostess Maria Eugenia. Breakfast in an ample first-floor dining room includes homemade bread, jams and cakes. Above all, this guesthouse is incredible value but when it catches on it may not stay that way.
