Hostelworld's property description
Built around 1900 for a Leeds Tobacconist who wanted to use the River Ouse to ferry his tabacco to his customers. Later during the First & Second World Wars the building was used by the Army Paymaster.
Later developed into a Hotel and still retains some original features such as the grand staircase, landing window, and other leaded windows throughout the Hotel.
The Hotel is situated only a few minutes walk from York Minster in a quiet leafy cul-de-sac.
