Ujamaa Hostel is a hostel for travellers and volunteers located in Arusha Tanzania. We provide fun, safe accommodation where you can meet like minded people, check out the local culture and spend time volunteering in the local community if you want to.
Breakfast, Dinner and laundry are included in the price and there is also a drinks fridge where you can buy sodas and beers at anytime.
We have 14 dorm beds (4-6 in each room) and one private double room as well. Each bed has a lockable draw for valuables and a cupboard for clothes etc. All linen is provided (not towels!) and there are mosquito nets on each bed. There is a communal lounge room with TV and DVD player with a selection of books and DVDs. There are also a range of outdoor seating areas where you can hang out. We provide 24hr access and security.
The hostel is located 1km from the centre of town where you have access to internet, supermarket, post office and a range of restaurants and bars.
Arusha is the gateway to The Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater where you can see all the animals that Africa has to offer as well as some of the most pristine and incredible scenery in the world. It is also located at the base of Mt Meru (Tanzania's 2nd largest mountain) and just an hour away stands Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. We are happy to provide information on taking safaris and mountain climbing.
If you are interested in volunteering we have a range of positions available including teaching, helping at an orphanage, painting/building, visiting AIDS patients and many more.
Full payment for the duration of your stay is due upon arrival in US Dollars (cash).
