Too often fancy means stuffy but not here. This is minimalist chic - hence the mathematical moniker. Baubles and bling are cast aside. You won't find any unnecessary extras. This comfortable, classic setting with refreshing warmth promotes a good time for all.

A great addition to the high end scene, this 1880s home on Cerro Alegre stays true to its origins with nine ample bedrooms with oversized windows. Half of the bedrooms face the port. Rooms come in placid tones of moss green or seafoam and classic designs. Snug beds sport 600g Egyptian cotton sheets and cozy throws. While it's tempting to hide away in your bedroom with a DVD on the LCD screen, the common spaces are the fun part. There's an enclosed sun room with a view, in addition to the terraced Jacuzzi deck out by the bougainvillea - the perfect remedy to arduous urban trekking. Our favorite feature? The Honesty Bar, an old-fashioned living room booze cabinet with a chemist's selection of spirits and mixers. Fix your own pisco sour or order up a gourmet sandwich to nibble, then bill yourself. The service is stellar but downright relaxed.
