This HI-affiliated hostel 800m southeast of Mannerheiminkatu is in a lovely old wooden house with spotless rooms, a grassy garden and a well equipped kitchen. It's a bit old school - the doors close between 10:00 (check-out time) and 16:00, and curfew is 23:00 - but it's popular so book ahead in summer. There's a great indoor pool and sauna complex over the road.
