Address: Calle real xalteva; iglesia de la merced, 1\2c e, City center , Granada , Nicaragua
This excellent new hostel has a great location and an easygoing vibe. While the dorms here could be roomier, the private rooms - with good beds, fan, cable TV and spacious bathrooms - are easily some of the best in their price range in town. The only thing lacking is a swimming pool, but with the lake and the Laguna de Apoyo in easy striking distance, who's complaining? The patio is a Granada classic - wide porticos shading comfortable wooden furniture and hammocks, surrounding a lush garden. If you're going for one of the private rooms here, have a look around if you get the chance before deciding - some are much better than others. An added bonus about staying here is that the hostel supports the Centro Social Tío Antonio, an NGO handicrafts cooperative that provides education, clothing and opportunities for disabled kids.

The hostel is a couple of short blocks from Granada's lovely, shady parque central which is alive all day and most of the night with street vendors, handicraft stalls and horse-drawn carriages. Grab a bench and watch the world go by!
