Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel, an HI facility at Pigeon Point, 5 miles south of Pescadero on Hwy 1, is based in the old lighthouse-keeper's quarters. The 115ft lighthouse, one of the tallest in America, was built in 1872. The hostel is such a pleasant place that, especially on weekends and throughout the summer, advance reservations are essential.
