Address: Ludwigstr. 13-17 , Frankfurt 60327, Germany Show on map
As soon as you step through the door of the Bristol, you know that this place takes design very seriously indeed. Fashion shows are beamed onto the walls of the lobby, cow-print poufs take the place of chairs in the reception, and the sound of hip-hop floats through hidden speakers. What you think of this hotel will therefore depend on your general feeling towards cow-print furniture, black-clad waiting staff and expensive vanilla-scented candles (we love them!). There's a trendy 24-hour bar with gold leather upholstery and a Japanese-style 'summer lounge', an outdoor bar that hosts live bands and DJs on summer weekends. It's a mecca for the bright young things of Frankfurt's media scene - this is the kind of place where even two Germans talking to each other seem to do it in mid-Atlantic English. The bedrooms are also very stylish, although rather on the small side - it's worth stumping up the extra for one of the larger sized rooms. There's no air-conditioning, which can make them very stuffy in the summer, although fans are provided. There's free Internet access in the lobby, and the reception staff are young, unpretentious and friendly.
