If you're looking for self-contained accommodation at genuinely affordable prices, and you don't want to be bothered by the neighbours, try Dudley Villa. This old property has been sympathetically restored and has great character including old tin roofs.

In its first season, Dudley Villa is being renovated and there are big plans for alfresco dining in the bush. Dudley feels like it's in the middle of nowhere and yet the conveniences of Penneshaw (including the penguins) are just a short drive (2km/1.2mi). The solitude here in the forest means you can pretty much do what you like, including partying your ass off. Dudley covers a lot of bases - it's suitable for groups, families or even couples. Activities for the kids includes a playground and mountain bikes, and there's fishing gear suitable for all ages. In summer it stays nice and cool inside, and in winter the open fire keeps tushes nicely toasted.
