The enormous rooms in the old wing of this hotel, which feels nothing like a chain, are phenomenal. They boast opulent bathrooms with swinging double doors and a generously furnished sitting area fit for a small party. This is Kaunas' nicest hotel by a long shot.Minimalists might find the rooms a bit busy but even they would have a hard time finding fault with the elegant ottomans, lazy loveseats, eye-catching lamps, cosy king-sized beds, fine linens and prevailing tawny hues. Rooms in the new wing are not as big or as nice - but they still trump most of what's on offer in Kaunas. There's a swanky basement bar with a fine outdoor patio, while the ground-floor Europa restaurant is very reasonably priced. Sauna and pool are free to guests until mid-morning, after which there is an hourly fee. Parking is free, as is wi-fi in every room.
