Address: Po box 308 , Koror , Palau
This place has a genuine ace up its 'sleeve' (assuming a building can be clothed). While it's one of only two hotels in Palau with a beachside location, the beach here is the clear winner: it's simply gorgeous, spread over 300m of sand.Need more? Well, alongside the beach there's a sweet swimming pool and a nifty bar; all of this is pure indulgence. The bar, especially, is a winner; Palau gets some great sunsets and there's nothing better than watching it go down on an expanse of sand with a margarita in hand. The 160 rooms have rattan furniture, tile floors, ceiling fans and private lanai (verandas). They offer a choice of garden and ocean views, but don't discount the former; it's a lovely bit of landscaped work to look out on and features a nice fish pond that's home to two resident green turtles (who show no signs of leaving, either), as well as an assortment of lionfish, clams and stingrays, perfect for curious kiddies. Splash, a five-star PADI dive centre, is also onsite. The Palau Pacific is a cut above.

Take a tour to Babeldaob island, a mysterious place, physically impenetrable for the most part and shielding enigmatic monoliths whose origin and purpose is unknown (save for various god theories). The east coast has beautiful stretches of sandy beach, particularly from Ngiwal to Ngaraard, while the west coast has a largely mangrove-studded shoreline.
