Associated with the venerable university of the same name, the Bursa Jagiellonška is normally a student dormitory, but it is open in summer (normally late June through to early October) for travellers. It is Krakow's best student hostel, attracting student and non-student types from Poland and abroad.

The dorm has dozens of single, double and triple rooms; generally two or three rooms share bathroom and kitchen facilities. The whole place is spick-and-span, but nonetheless it is a dormitory. The clean, white linens and bare white walls feel rather institutional, as do the linoleum floors and bare-basic furniture (although it lacks bunk beds, which are otherwise a hostel standard in Krakow). The upside is the free facilities - Internet, laundry and TV room, and the friendly reception. Staff members speak more than a dozen languages between them, and are always ready to strike up a conversation. The amiable atmosphere pervades the hostel, making the Bursa Jagiellonska a great place to meet up with fellow summer travellers.
