Address: Florianska 14 , Krakow 31-021, Poland Show on map
In a former tenement on ancient ul Florianska stands Krakow's oldest and most enchanting hotel, the Pod Róza. Gracefully combining the building's renaissance architectural elements with modern amenities, it produces an overall effect of luxury and class. The 57 rooms are individually decorated, each with elegant furnishings of rich, dark wood; spacious marble bathrooms with separate tub and shower; and gorgeous hardwood floors of various designs. Plush velvet and raw silk bedspreads are topped with fluffy pillows bearing the rose motif. Throughout the building, wall frescoes, tile stoves and elaborate stuccowork are reminders that this place has been welcoming guests for over 300 years. The best bargain at the Hotel Pod Róza are the mansard doubles, which are tucked up under the roof on the top floor. These cosy rooms are slightly smaller (and therefore cheaper) than the standard doubles, but they boast magnificent views of the Old Town rooftops and the spires of St Mary's Church.
