It's all about the glory of fine marble and the decadence of brocaded upholstery in this world class five-star hotel. Rooms are smallish for the elevated prices, but service is as hoity-toity as it gets.International movie stars and high-profile politicos rest their weary heads on the satin pillows of the Premier Palace Hotel, whose motto is Nomen est omen (the name says it all). Well... it's not quite a palace, but it is Kyiv's number-one place to stay. You'll know you've found a pocket of true luxury from the moment you stroll into the central lobby, where rich-hued satin divans frame a pair of glass bullet-elevators that shoot up through a cylinder of marble balconies toward a glass atrium. The rooms are gorgeous and feature almost every amenity you could want (including flatscreen TVs, bidets and free wi-fi). There are also themed suites, including a 'high-tech' one and another named for Vladimir Vysotsky, the late beloved Tom Waits-like singer-songwriter. If money's no object and you don't mind rooms on the small side, this is your place.
