Warning! Your room is not in the neck-craning tower but rather in a much smaller building at the base of the spire. Lower rates always guarantee crushing crowds, including rambunctious families and occasionally rowdy drunks.

The main drawback to staying here is that it's far-removed from the rest of the Strip, although the Sahara's monorail station is nearby. The Stratosphere has the highest-elevation pool in Vegas, with a separate 25th-floor clothing-optional beach club. A mandatory 5.00-per-day 'resort fee' includes use of the rooftop pool, fitness center and self-service laundry machines, plus complimentary tower admission before noon. Rooms have standard motel-issue decor and are quite tiny, so expect to be tripping over your travel mates here. Suites aren't enormous either, but at least they have spa tubs; some also come with extra sofa beds, which is great news for families. Whatever you do, insist on a room with a good view, not one overlooking the parking garage. Extended check-out at 18:00 usually costs only a little bit extra.
