Lonely Planet review

Sybaritic fashionistas and gangstas love the Palms of MTV's Real World and Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown fame. Spacious, understated rooms with comfy beds enjoy window-side sitting areas and chaise longues. Staff sometimes have attitude; try to talk your way into an upper-floor room with a Strip view anyway.

This ultramodern casino hotel is designed to seduce gen-Xers and -Yers. You'll either absolutely love it or hate it. The high-drama, neon-lit atmosphere is both sexy and downright sleazy - just like Hugh Hefner's Playboy Club, where casino dealers dress like bunnies. A hint to the celebrity obsessed: Paris Hilton, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears are just a few of the famous faces that have shacked up at the Palms. Guestrooms all have a sofa and coffee table, plus a desk in those with a king-size bed. Sultry suites vary from playpens for bachelor(ette) parties and Fantasy Tower sky villas to the unique Hardwood Suite, which has an indoor basketball half-court. The Palms' nightclubs, including rooftop Moon and Ghostbar, are some of the hottest in town. N9NE steakhouse and sky-high French restaurant Alizé more than hold their own.
