Relive the fabulous heyday of 1950s Vegas at this swank Fremont St address. Oversized Gold Club lounge rooms have rich chocolate decor, with leather sofas, a stereo system stocked with Rat Pack-era tunes and deep soaking tubs in the bathrooms, plus access to the hotel's spa and workout facilities.

This fab downtown hotel rakes in a moneyed crowd of Old Vegas scenesters. Opened in 1946 as the then-largest casino in the world, the Nugget looked like a million bucks - and, in fact, cost exactly that much to build. In the 1970s, casino impresario Steve Wynn brought vintage Vegas back into style when he invited Frank Sinatra to star at the Nugget's gorgeous Theater Ballroom. Wunderkinds Tim Poster and Thomas Breitling catapulted the Nugget into the national limelight with the Fox reality TV series Casino. Today, the corporately owned Nugget is a fave with modern swingers for its white leather slot-machine seats, sizzlin' lounge acts, poolside cabanas and a three-story water slide through a glass-enclosed, 200,000-gallon shark tank. If you're hip to the downtown scene, this gem's for you.
