This sleeping beauty lures romantic types with art-slung vaulted corridors and rooms that marry olde-worlde charm with contemporary aesthetic.You'll thank the lord when you discover this calm retreat in Lapa, with its cobbled inner courtyard full of birdsong. The vaulted interior doesn't disappoint either: cells have been stunningly converted to fuse rustic charm with clean aesthetic. In the wood-floored rooms, deep blue tones contrast sharply with snowy white linen, antique chests with funky lighting. Lather up with Molton Brown cosmetics in your eggshell-hued marble bathroom, check your email in the internet corner, or feast on Portuguese cuisine with a French twist in the chandelier-lit restaurant. Our only gripe: breakfast costs an extra 15.00.
