Lonely Planet review

The decor is coldly modern but everything is gleamingly clean and you can't beat the central location. TVs and Internet access in every room are unusual niceties for the price, making this hotel excellent value for money.

There's very little wrong with this excellent two-star property. Sure, it doesn't cover much more than the bare essentials, but it does so with a thoroughness that will leave even the most discerning guest satisfied. The rooms are plain but very, very clean and everything works just fine. The service is friendly and personable and the staff are always on hand to answer a query, offer directions or, more importantly, give insider suggestions on where to get the best deal or the most genuine experience of whatever it is you're looking for. And then there's the location: only steps away from Prešernov trg at the back of a courtyard, this hotel is as well positioned as the Grand Hotel Union Executive. If you're not too fussy about fancy soap in the bathroom or OTT grandeur, this is the place for you.
