Sparkling, spotless and clean as a clinic, the Fenix is a comfortable, if slightly soulless, business style hotel well located between Melaka's old quarters and its bustling new town.If you're in search of character, the Fenix is not your best bet. In fact, the most colourful thing about this no-nonsense business-style inn is the white phoenix emblem on the chocolate brown facade. However, gleaming white surfaces aside, this is a friendly place to bunk down. The rooms are clean, if unremarkable, and the bathrooms spotless. Bear in mind the hotel has only two double beds - the vast majority of rooms are twin. There is also no food or room service, though with all the excellent eateries in the area you'll hardly need it.
