Towering over the historic district of Melaka, the Equatorial is one of the top two luxury hotels in the city alongside the Renaissance. Restrained and quietly stylish, you'll be wrapped in a warm glow from the moment you walk into the lobby, with its white balustraded mezzanine, elegantly curled staircases and curious tree-branch chandelier.

Rooms are spacious and welcoming with an old-world hint in the rattan and dark wood furniture. All rooms have balconies. Well located on the border between the old and new parts of the city, it's a short walk to the major sights and great food - though it's worth checking out the hotel's Peranakan restaurant decked out with the shamelessly ornate furniture beloved by the Straits Chinese.
