Guestrooms at the sophisticated Sofitel start on the 36th floor, so you're guaranteed views that'll have you itching to begin your sightseeing at ground level.

Elsewhere, don't be surprised if you encounter camera-toting tourists emerging from the loos on the hotel's 35th floor - these boast floor-to-ceiling windows and more of those winning views. On this floor you can kick back in the cocktail lounge or dine at Café La, but in a nod to the hotel's all-important business clientele, a slick executive lounge - Club Sofitel - keeps the suits happy. At ground level are more worthy distractions, including cafes, shops and a good indie cinema. If you manage to bag a corner suite (ask for one ending in '27'), we wouldn't be wholly surprised if the superb panoramas, combined with the king-sized bed, fluffy bathrobes and automated touchscreen next to the bed (yes, you can operate the TV and lights without putting on your dressing gown) mean you decide to view all the city sights from the comfort of your room.
