The city's most historic, and definitely most luxurious, hotel is the recently renovated Park Hyatt. This colonnaded showpiece of a hotel stands directly across from the city's main plaza, making it as convenient as it is comfortable.

Yeah, it's a chain, we know. But it's also a splendid piece of Mendoza's architectural history and was so elegantly restored in 2004, that it easily merits the title of the city's top hotel. The exquisitely decorated rooms are magnificent, stylish and modern, without being cold. The divinely outfitted hotel spa, where you could easily find yourself drifting into bliss alongside some Argentine soap star, is included in the price. The restaurants and service are, of course, tops. Out front, big tables sit on the giant stone patio area overlooking the Plaza Independencia. Behind the hotel, you can lose yourself in the city's best casino.
