This tranquil hotel, set in a restored 19th-century building, is all about making guests feel comfortable and as if they're staying in their second home - something it achieves with ease.

Small and discreet, this hotel is a little out of the way on a street that has little in the way of commerce. It manages to feel exclusive and welcoming, casual and sophisticated, which is exactly what the Fiera di Milano-going hotshots are after. If you manage to score a room here (book well in advance), you'll find the staff very hospitable, keeping the casual feel alive, from the communal breakfasts to the excellent aperitivo hours in the chic outside lounge area. The rooms are light with brown accents (rooms 101 and 202 are the ones to score), with Oriental and African touches, and to ensure that you really get a good night's rest, there are several different types of pillows and weight comforters from which to choose.
