Take the back entrance to the hotel and head down Via della Spiga to the Duomo, where it's all shops, museums, sights and restaurants. After shopping all day, take in a performance at the beautifully renovated La Scala (book your tickets early though!) or, if you want to keep the shopping spirit, head over to Armani's Nobu for a star-spotting dinner.

• From Milan Linate Airport (LIN):
  Distance to the Carlton Hotel Baglioni is 12 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
  
  Getting there. A taxi to central Milan costs about 15 EUR-20 EUR. An airport shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to Milan's Stazione Centrale (central station). The fare is 3 EUR for a single ticket. The number 73 bus leaves every 10 minutes from outside arrivals and runs to San Babila station on Milan's underground metro system. The fare is 1 EUR for a single ticket. Prices are all subject to change. The Carlton Hotel Baglioni is two and a half kilometres from Stazione Centrale.
  
  Getting around. Hotel Baglioni is located on Via Senato in central Milan. The city centre is easy to explore on foot, and there are pedestrianised areas around the Duomo. A comprehensive network of trams, buses and four metro lines offers efficient travel throughout the city. Integrated tickets for all modes of public transport can be purchased at newsagents, metro stations, tobacconists, and most coffee bars. Driving is not recommended in Milan's city centre. There are many one-way streets, traffic is heavy, and parking is limited. Cars parked illegally are towed or fined. There is parking at the hotel (surcharge).
