Geared for business and long stays, Kimberly's 186 stately rooms - all with kitchenettes - come with a little fun too: all guests can take a free ride on the hotel's yacht on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday nights (complete with snacks).

Styled somewhere between Victorian England and pirates (well, there are some nautical prints), Kimberly's rooms - traditional European in style - are bigger than most. Some of the paint is peeling a bit, but all rooms come with sprawling desks that pull out for extra work space and include a fax machine and internet access. In the one-bedroom suites, living rooms are huge, with a plush sofa and two armchairs facing the TV. Beds have poster headboards and fat duvets. Most south-facing rooms get impressive Chrysler Building views. All guests get free use of the New York Health & Racquet Club - not too shabby. The downstairs Nikki Beach bar is surprisingly swank; breakfast and steaks are served at the lobby George O'Neill's.
