A stylish step up from the high-end chains, Twinpalms Phuket has clean lines and is tastefully modern. There is a knowing flair here in both the atmosphere and service that the others just can't seem to match.Twinpalms is an alternative to the over-the-top accommodation options found in the nearby Laguna Phuket Complex. There is a restrained stylishness here that is sorely lacking at the other establishments on this pricey corner of Phuket. A ring of vaguely retro apartment-style buildings surrounds what is surely the most imaginative swimming pool on the island. Inside, the theme is one of functional modernity that does not forfeit on comfort. Except for a Thai-style pavilion at one end of the pool, the architecture and decor is culturally neutral - refreshingly so. Besides the obligatory restaurants and spa, there is a library that actually tempts one to plop down and read indoors. Rooms are soothing and understated, and look like anything but hotel rooms.
