Tucked away down a quiet lane in Malá Strana, Nosticova is a luxurious all-suite hotel offering a choice of individually designed one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, all with kitchenettes and lounge areas. There's a good restaurant downstairs if you don't want to cook.

Nosticova is a discreet hotel with a variety of tastefully designed suites in varying shapes and sizes, all with small kitchens, lounges and wi-fi connections. Original 19th-century paintings and antique-style furniture grace every apartment, though they are each decorated in their own style and carry names such as the Mozart Suite and the Royal Suite Casanova rather than common old numbers. One suite even boasts a grand piano, while the two-floor, three-bedroom, three-bathroom penthouse known as the Apartment Karel IV, works out at pretty good value if you're travelling in a group of six. The restraint shown in the suites was clearly discarded when the downstairs restaurant was opened, with enough zebra print, gold paint, red velvet, mirrors, bronzes and shimmering chandeliers to make Elton John feel queasy. The food, though, is excellent.
