Fancy having a helicopter pick you up on the lawn? What about a swim in a private pool looking up the Remarkables? It may all seem rather excessive (as does the price), but if you're looking to splash out in a big way, read on.

Minutes from the ski slopes, this exclusive lodge is for those throwing their budgets to the wind (but keep in mind the tariff includes dinner as well as breakfast). There's lots of wood and local art that makes it feel as homely as it does opulent. The four rooms are exceedingly plush, with lots of space. Some have balconies and all have en suites. If you're after a little heritage, you can bunk down in the renovated shepherd's cottage out back. The lush gardens are home to a hot tub and there's a hydrotherapy spa to soak away your hard day's adventure. A five-course, gourmet dinner is included, and, if you've any room left, breakfast is also served and you can hang around for tea and cakes in the afternoon. The hosts are gracious and not at all pretentious, given their fancy abode. Oh, and you really can get whisked away in a helicopter, but that costs extra of course.
