Truly gorgeous. Originally opened in the 1860s, this small hotel has been refurbished into an oasis of opulence. Located directly across from the harbour, the excellent lake and mountain views are an added accessory to the beautiful décor. Service is gracious and discreet.

Each of the five enormous suites have an open fireplace, lake views and a beautiful blend of antique and modern décor. Elegant wooden furnishings, silks and tasteful art would persuade you to take up permanent residence if the prices weren't so steep. Sink into a super king bed amid warm, earthy tones and a fur throw. With heated floors and deep tubs, the bathrooms are so luxurious you'll want to sleep in them. Throughout the hotel you'll find antiques grouped in clusters: giant clocks in the stairway, huge wooden wardrobes and porcelain dishes in the hall. Downstairs is a chic-yet-cosy bar that's open to the public, and upstairs, a gorgeous guest parlour where pre-dinner drinks and breakfast is served.
