This whopping 2881-room hotel is a tourist attraction in itself, with nine acres of lush indoor gardens and rivers, boat rides, a waterfall, and an elevated walkway over the rain forest. A dozen eating options range from coffee and Danish to steak and single malt.

Tourists from other hotels take free shuttles to the Opryland just to gawk at the enormous, meticulously-created indoor rain forests and rivers (be sure to look out for Donny, the river's resident 80-pound catfish). The theme-park-like environment includes a recreated Delta town, complete with flat boat tours and faux lily pads tricked out with microphones to become mini-stages for nightly performances. Rooms are designed with a New Orleans flavor, some with wrought-iron balconies opening out onto the atrium. Special amenities include cooking lessons with hotel restaurant chefs, a 20,000-sq-ft spa, and an award-winning golf course. Must be seen to be believed.
