This fairly new hotel earned its place among São Paulo's best hotels soon after opening back in 2004. Rooms here are steeped from top to bottom in pure elegance, and all of them overlook a tranquil stretch of tree-lined Jardim Paulista. The staff here wear blue, pinstripe suits, which is a fine metaphor for the masculine design of the guestrooms. Wood floors, linen wallpaper and dark-wood Chesterfield-like furnishings are the elements of choice here. You'll also find long, striped carpets (in ochres and reds), wood-framed windows, old-fashioned alarm clocks and white-marble bathrooms - all of which complete the classic overall look. Softening things up a bit are vases of freshly cut flowers, artfully placed in all of the rooms. All the tools for business are on hand, from good wireless connections to long wooden desks in the suites. The pool here, surrounded by yet more wood, is long enough for swimming laps. There are also several masculine bars, all with similar dark-wood-and-cognac appeal.
