It's a budget hotel, not a house, so anyone looking for a guesthouse to lounge with backpackers should look elsewhere. Travellers who enjoy kicking back at night with a book or mapping out the next adventure might appreciate the laid-back quality of Yim's.

Is it a backpacker guesthouse or a budget business hotel? Well, the affable owner and operator Mr Yim seems to believe it's both. Maybe, but travellers should note that this place has few features typically found in a guesthouse, like a common lounge stuffed with sofas or a kitchen. It is, however, a freshly remodelled budget hotel with modestly equipped rooms that are remarkably bright for the price. The cost for a single seems high but it's not out of place given the central location. The best value will be had by a pair or trio of travellers looking for a quiet night and a bathroom that won't make you feel squeamish. There's free Internet on the 1st floor. While there's no washing machine, Mrs Yim will do the dirty work for you for a small fee.
