Squeezed in among other soaring buildings next to the mall-scape of Suntec City is this classy high-rise, where there's little to disturb you during your stay except for round-the-clock room service deliveries. The Conrad Centennial has a dash more classic elegance to it than some neighbouring top end hotels, and the effect of the slab-like marblework and dim mood lighting of the lobby is thankfully leavened by some prominent colourful artwork. The hotel's reserved air doesn't extend to the 400 plus guest rooms, which are all around the same size (bar the two dozen suites of course) and decked out in tasteful contemporary decor. Their best feature is arguably the pillow menu. To claim, as the hotel's advertising does, that this is where vacations become 'works of art' is rather overstating it, but this establishment does have an enlivening sophistication.
