This funky, hugely attractive hostel has a superb hilltop location shared with leafy Mt Emily Park. Originally built as a condominium, then converted into a hotel and then refurbished as a fun-loving backpackers, it sports a vivacious retro style in most communal areas and has superb amenities, including a bar and pool table. One of the hostel's nicest areas is the rooftop terrace, which has fine views and is adorned by Balinese sculptures and a 'shower' pool, but the various chill-out corners with their bright colours are also very appealing. All guest rooms are immaculate and modern in style, dressed up in light earthy tones. The smallest rooms lack windows but have TVs to keep you occupied, while rooms with a view come without an idiot box; as a result, corridors aren't plagued by muffled transmissions. All rooms come with breakfast except for the dorms (choose between unisex and mixed). If you walk up from Wilkies Rd rather than the Little India MRT station, take the shortcut offered by the staircase beside Le Wilkie complex.
