It's hard to imagine a lovelier setting for a stay in Stockholm than this 1925 building on a slope overlooking the amusement park Gröna Lund. The hotel's plush amenities (saunas, satellite TV) and its location round out the luxurious-retreat experience.
The hotel's rooms were restored in the early '90s to their original look, with hardwood floors and perfectly worn antiques. Staff will bend over backward to meet the oddest request - go ahead, ask them anything. There's a semi-casual lobby bar and an excellent, highly rated restaurant on the ground floor, where guests are treated to live music at night and an elaborate breakfast buffet in the morning. The noted Wärdshus Godthem is right across the road, and the proximity to all of Djurgården's fabulous museums - not to mention the beautiful, away-from-it-all location - are perks that are hard to beat.
