Lonely Planet review

This hip, stylish 16-room place is still trading on its remodelling from a few years ago, thanks to designers du jour Burley Katon Halliday, who went for a blindingly white look for the most part. That said, such standards need to be maintained and we were a little disappointed to see that this work is not always being done. Scuffed L'otel-brand carpet on the stairs is not part of any design school last time we checked. Rooms have a general air of subdued smartness, although for the life of us we couldn't find a spot to put the kettle when we stayed here. Where L'otel excels is in offering comfortable, attractive sleeping quarters in one of the hippest spots in Sydney - think easy access to all the best drinking and dining options. Bathrooms are graced by locally produced Bloom toiletries.
