There probably hasn't been a significant update to this hotel since the Village People were first popular, but you're here just to stay a few nights and you won't be spending a lot of time in your room anyway. You just need something clean and affordable. It'll do. It'll do.There's a nice flower display in the hotel's lobby, but it's tucked into a back corner as if to let you know its colour and vibrancy don't really belong here. This place is about barebones values. It's about white walls and balconies with views of other aging buildings. It's about fixtures that work and mattresses that offer a good night's sleep. Most of all, this place is about location. You can't get much more central than here and the MRT and main train station are just around the corner. The Y makes a decent base for exploring the city, or the whole island. And don't worry about your dirty clothes when you get back. There's a very handy coin-operated laundry on the premises.

The neighbourhood bustles with the action and noise of a thousand small cafes and restaurants. Lots of local dishes to sample. Just down the road visit the 228 Peace Park and Taiwan Museum for some insight into local history.
You need to apply for a YMCA membership card to use this hotel. It costs 200.00, but it's worth it because this gives you a 10% discount for the first night.
